I’m not mad at Penèlope Cruz for dating my man.

I get it.

I saw VICKY CHRISTINA BARCELONA over the weekend. Javier Bardem and Penèlope were fantastic. Without them the movie would have been zzzzzzzz.

“ScarJo” is beautiful but I don’t know, something about her in this movie seemed flat. I got nothing from her. Maybe that was intentional? Rebecca Hall as Vicky was great. Her American accent was flawless.

Here is a little clip of my man. Nice way to start my Monday. Thank you Javier.

Er...excuse me, but that's MY man and I think that it would be wise for you to just respect the love that I have for him. Penelope and I have come to an agreement and it suits all parties. I'm sure that you will one day find that special one but this is not that day. HAHAHA! I kid! I kid!

He is one of the most, if not THE most intriguing actors of our time.

Thank you for this post!

I just don't know if there's enough Javier to go around... sigh.

texas - Not really. The movie is rated PG-13. :)

felicia - You're welcome but you better step off my friend. Bardem is my man! ha. In all seriousness he is a fantastic actor. Did you seen BEFORE NIGHT FALLS?

jen - it's sad really. so sad.

Rugby! That explains that viral , ultra masculine way about him. Im picturing him as a little kid hanging back stage in a white poly suit imitating Travolta! Priceless.
Peneelope has moved up in taste from little Tom Cruise.

agreed re javier.....he is just so so sexy. I saw the movie on saturday and agree with you about both him and penelope. They were great, and scarlett did seem a bit flat, although i would have wished for a little more out of the story line too. i like woody allen for his crazy endings-with-a twist, but oh well, i reckon that was not the point in this movie... one thing though: now i want to go to barcelona!!

So this is what he's like when he's not playing a homicidal maniac. Not bad at all.

Oh yes I did see him in Before Night Falls, that was the first time that I saw his beauty. He was so incredibly believable in that film. His performance made me take a good hard look at my life. Seriously.

P.S. The MAN IS MINE. (set to the tune of "The boy is mine" by Monica and Brandy fame.
Hmm, hmm, that's right. Ha!

This Is one of my Top 10 movies of the year.

Penelope Cruz has proved that she is more than a pretty celebrity who acts. She is an incredible actress capable of inhabiting a wide range of roles.

I haven't seen it yet. I thought it was going to fluff because Scarlett's casting in the movie threw me off.

glamah16 - Yes she did. The two could be more different. Javier is v. masculine. Tom...not so much.

nancy - I want to go to Barcelona too.

wordtryst - ha. Plus he has a better haircut in this movie.

felicia - monica/brandy?! okay you got me.

I found that film really moving.

monica - I'm glad more people in the States are starting to recognize how talented she is. I think her first films in America were not good for her. She was still struggling with English and she went from playing leads in Spanish and Italian movies to being "the girl" in American films. She was great in VOLVER.

sdg1884 - yes she does. That is why I'm not mad at her. :)

los angelista - enjoy. Curious to hear what you thing of Scar Jo's performance.

faith - I really liked her in some earlier movies but I don't know what is going on with her. She seems to have a very limited range. Maybe she should do some theater or working with an actor coach.

He is so MALE! Finally, Penelope got it right after being with Tom Cruise and Matthew "No shirt" McConaughey.

P.S.
Penelope is a great actress as well. I recommend these two films:
1.Non ti muovere - Italia
... aka Don't Move
2. Volver

I saw the movie this weekend too! And couldn't agree with you more- Scarlett was a snooze-fest but Penelope and Rebecca were fantastic (as was Javier of course)!

Ms. Violetta - He IS very male. And I appreciate it. ha
I've seen those movies. I found Don't Move hard to watch (it was very intense) but she was outstanding in it.

romerican - it was weird. Every times she was on screen you could feel the energy get sucked out of the room. Rebecca Hall conveyed emotion with one glance.
